See below a collection of photos taken from section 137 in the Chico Stand of Audi Field during DC United’s 2026 MLS season opener against reigning Supporter’s Shield champions Philadelphia Union. The hosts pulled off the upset, thanks to former Union striker Tai Baribo finding the back of the net in the first half. Baribo should’ve had more, with an earlier goal being chalked off for offsides and a second half shot in the box being sent askew. The Union matched DC in physicality, but really couldn’t string together a long enough period of positive momentum. The red card certainly didn’t help, confusing as it was. The 1-0 win for DC was propelled by a team display that makes the season not feel completely hopeless, which is a drastic improvement from seasons past. But it’s been one game, so we’ll see. Baribo did limp off injured late in second half stoppage time.
