See below a collection of photos taken from section C3 of Audi Field during a 2026 friendly between DC United and Loudoun United FC, billed as the first ever DMV Derby. Recently, DC have enjoyed a stretch of momentum where they are consistently doing just enough to get results, and this match wasn’t much different. Loudoun snatched one early through Thorleifur Úlfarsson, but the quick punch in the mouth wasn’t enough to deter the hosts.
Three goals from three different scorers in 12 minutes turned the result back into DC’s favor, after which it seemed we were destined for an embarrassing scoreline. DC even threw on some regular starters as subs early in the second half, but they took their foot off the gas. A few chances and a set piece goal later and Loudoun were only down by one with about 20 minutes to play. The visitors had a chance to snatch a draw with the last kick of the game, but it just wasn’t meant to be (they missed).
