See below a collection of phots taken from section 122 of Audi Field during an NWSL match between the Washington Spirit and Orlando Pride. An early goal from Haley McCutcheon proved insurmountable for the hosts, shaking things up at either end of the playoff table.
Despite racking up 23 shots, and hitting the frame of Orlando’s goal three times, the Spirit could not break the seal, even with the attacking firepower of Rose Kouassi and Gift Monday back from WAFCON. Even with the disjointed momentum and sloppy play at times, the Spirit created enough chances that would’ve won the game if finished. But the struggles are indicative of a team that is winless in their last four, and in desperate need of a turn in momentum as the playoffs loom in the not-so-distant future.
